Yes, we sell adult books too! If we don't have what you're looking for, we can always order it for you. Treat yourself with one of these great reads! Children of Paranoia (Hardcover)$25.95 ISBN-13: 9780525952374Availability: On Our Shelves Now Published: Dutton Adult, 9/2011 This mysterious thriller - describing a world at war, a war only certain people know about - drew me in from the very first page. Remember, it's not paranoia if they're really after you...
The Night Circus (Hardcover)$26.95 ISBN-13: 9780385534635Availability: Usually Ships in 1-5 days Published: Doubleday, 9/2011 Reading "The Night Circus" was like having a beautiful, fantastical dream, the kind you can never quite grasp when you wake up. This lush tale of a magical circus had me enthralled (and wishing such a circus actually existed)!
The Orchard: A Memoir (Hardcover)$24.99 ISBN-13: 9780446584692Availability: On Our Shelves Now Published: Grand Central Publishing, 9/2011 "The Orchard" is a gentle memoir in the vein of "Silent Spring". Weir tells the story of her life in a dead-end town and her hasty marriage to a farmer. Her husband's farm has been in his family for generations and Theresa is very much an outsider. She has no say in the way they do things or the poisonous chemicals they use - pesticides that claim many lives, including, eventually, her husband's. A haunting reflection that left me thinking. The Art of Fielding (Hardcover)$25.99 ISBN-13: 9780316126694Availability: Usually Ships in 1-5 days Published: Little, Brown and Company, 9/2011 "The Art of Fielding" is about much more than baseball - it's a character study about taking chances and regrets and starting over. This will appeal to fans and non-fans of the sport alike!
The Kingdom of Childhood (Hardcover)$15.95 ISBN-13: 9780778312789Availability: On Our Shelves Now Published: Mira, 9/2011 People (in general) are appalled when a male teacher has an affair with an underage female student. But when the situation is reversed (female teacher, male student) those very same people are unconcerned, smirking, even. Teenage boys are seen as less vulnerable than teenage girls and thought of as being ruled by their surging hormones. "The Kingdom of Childhood" is the best example I've ever seen of the harm that is done to boys through these affairs and the imbalance of power that occurs. A compulsive read that takes you deep into the frightening world the characters have created - I couldn't put it down!
Blueprints for Building Better Girls: Fiction (Hardcover)$24.00 ISBN-13: 9780743276702Availability: Usually Ships in 1-5 days Published: Simon & Schuster, 9/2011 Schappell's second book, a collection of short stories, is spot-on. Each story, though separate, blends seamlessly into the next, giving readers a comprehensive view of the characters. This is the perfect choice if you only have pockets of time in which to read - but you won't want to stop at just one story!
The Revisionists (Hardcover)$25.99 ISBN-13: 9780316176729Availability: Usually Ships in 1-5 days Published: Mulholland Books, 9/2011 A twisted labyrinth of a thriller, "The Revisionists" is a prime example of dystopian done right. Your head will be spinning by the end, but in the best way possible!
The Barbarian Nurseries (Hardcover)$27.00 ISBN-13: 9780374108991Availability: Usually Ships in 1-5 days Published: Farrar, Straus and Giroux, 10/2011 Tobar's engaging novel explores the racial tensions and class divides in L.A. and is both current and well-written. Tobar gives Franzen a run for his money!
Bedbugs (Paperback)$14.95 ISBN-13: 9781594745232Availability: Usually Ships in 1-5 days Published: Quirk Books, 9/2011 Reading "Bedbugs", a creepy psychological thriller, felt like reading classic Ira Levin. I had to keep reading all the way to the last creepy-crawly page!

These are titles any teen (or adult!) will enjoy! How to Rock Braces and Glasses (Hardcover)$17.99 ISBN-13: 9780316068253Availability: On Our Shelves Now Published: Poppy, 9/2011 This reverse-Ugly Duckling story with an eye-catching title is fun and funny - teens will love it! The Shattering (Hardcover)$17.99 ISBN-13: 9780316125727Availability: On Our Shelves Now Published: Little, Brown Books for Young Readers, 9/2011 Healey's second book is a paranormal thriller that's just as mysterious as her first! Shut Out (Hardcover)$17.99 ISBN-13: 9780316175562Availability: On Our Shelves Now Published: Poppy, 9/2011 Keplinger's second book, a modern day retelling of "Lysistrata" was not only immensely enjoyable, but tackles some tough issues as well. I love the feminist message and the way it takes on the sexual double standard in a way that teens can relate to. I'd recommend this to teen girls and guys - under the cover of entertainment, this book is a strong, important read! All These Things I've Done (Hardcover)$16.99 ISBN-13: 9780374302108Availability: On Our Shelves Now Published: Square Fish, 9/2011 Zevin's new novel chronicling a dystopian New York and Anya, the daughter of a fall Mob boss, is gripping. Anya is a strong heroine - both admirable and relatable - and readers will have trouble waiting for the next installment in the series! Ashes (Hardcover)$17.99 ISBN-13: 9781606841754Availability: On Our Shelves Now Published: EgmontUSA, 9/2011 This haunting dystopian thriller (the first in a series) will entrance "Hunger Games" fans - teens and adults alike! The Isle of Blood (Hardcover)$18.99 ISBN-13: 9781416984528Availability: On Our Shelves Now Published: Simon & Schuster Books For Young Readers, 9/2011 I have been following the "Monstrumologist" series since the beginning and I was anxiously awaiting the latest installment. I wasn't disappointed - the third book is darker than the previous two, delving deeper into the issues Will Henry struggles with and exploring the monsters within us. Teens (especially boys) and adults will love this haunting book, the perfect read for a dark and stormy night! Daughter of Smoke and Bone (Hardcover)$18.99 ISBN-13: 9780316134026Availability: On Our Shelves Now Published: Little, Brown Books for Young Readers, 10/2011 From the ominous beginning - "Once upon a time, an angel and a demon fell in love. It did not end well" - to the foreboding end, "Daughter of Smoke and Bone" is a dark treat. It's got something for everyone: a lush, historic atmosphere, a forbidden romance, and epic battles. Teens and adults won't be able to get enough! The Name of the Star (Hardcover)$16.99 ISBN-13: 9780399256608Availability: On Our Shelves Now Published: Putnam Juvenile, 9/2011 This is the first book I've read by Maureen Johnson and it made me want to go back and read all her others! This story of a modern-day reincarnation of Jack the Ripper manages to be creepy, romantic, and utterly absorbing (and not nearly as gory as you'd think). The "Shades of London" series is sure to be a crossover hit! |

Any of these books would be great for elementary school kids! Bigger than a Bread Box (Hardcover)$16.99 ISBN-13: 9780375869167Availability: On Our Shelves Now Published: Random House Books for Young Readers, 9/2011 Laurel Snyder's books always feel so cozy to me, fun and sweet and relatable. Her newest, about a magical breadbox that grants wishes (and it doesn't work out as well as you'd imagine!) is a must read for middle readers! With a Name like Love (Hardcover)$16.99 ISBN-13: 9780374384654Availability: On Our Shelves Now Published: Farrar, Straus and Giroux (BYR), 9/2011 With A Name Like Love manages to be sweet without ever getting treacle-y. Hilmo's debut is a great, positive read that demonstrates the power of compassion and friendship. The Fingertips of Duncan Dorfman (Hardcover)$16.99 ISBN-13: 9780525423041Availability: On Our Shelves Now Published: Dutton Juvenile, 9/2011 Another wonderful adult author whose foray into kid lit is a rousing success! Wolitzer's fresh, quirky adventure reminded me of "The View From Saturday", while still remaining unique. I couldn't put it down! The Unwanteds (Hardcover)$16.99 ISBN-13: 9781442407688Availability: On Our Shelves Now Published: Aladdin, 8/2011 This new series by McMann is sure to be a hit with middle grade readers - it's an exciting cross between "The Giver" and "Harry Potter"! Reel Life Starring Us (Hardcover)$16.95 ISBN-13: 9781419700262Availability: On Our Shelves Now Published: Harry N. Abrams, 9/2011 Greenwald's latest is sweet, uncomplicated fun; as uncomplicated as things can be when you are the new girl at school, that is. Two girls are paired up for a class project: one is popular, the other is the aforementioned new girl (who sadly, isn't super cool). It's a recipe for disaster - did I mention they are middle school girls? But they end up learning a lot about each other and themselves, making this a great, feel-good pick for tween girls! Wonderstruck (Hardcover)$29.99 ISBN-13: 9780545027892Availability: On Our Shelves Now Published: Scholastic Press, 9/2011 What can I say about Selznick's newest novel, other than what I'm sure every other reader will say? It left me wonderstruck. As in "Hugo Cabret" Selznick combines his beautiful drawings with a charming, enchanting story. Wonderfully done and sure to be considered a classic in years to come! Ten Rules for Living with My Sister (Hardcover)$16.99 ISBN-13: 9780312367664Availability: On Our Shelves Now Published: Feiwel & Friends, 9/2011 In her newest book, Martin has created a character who is a loveable cross between Ramona Quimby and Fudge. Pearl doesn't mean to annoy her older sister, she just does, and doesn't know how to stop - thus, the rules are born. This would be a great pick for middle grade readers, whether they are the older sister or younger sister. Ever after the trillions of books she's written, Ann M. Martin's still got it! The Aviary (Hardcover)$15.99 ISBN-13: 9780375856051Availability: On Our Shelves Now Published: Knopf Books for Young Readers, 9/2011 A spooky, turn-of-the-century mystery, perfect for kids who want something that's scary, but not so scary it will give them nightmares! $16.99 ISBN-13: 9780763655594Availability: On Our Shelves Now Published: Candlewick, 9/2011 A beautiful, unexpectedly lovely novel about pain, loss, and forgiveness. The scary beginning will draw adventurous kids in, the heartfelt story will keep them there. |
