MainStreet Theatre Company is returning to Mrs. Nelson's MainStreet Theatre Company's latest play is based on the classic fairytale, Cinderella. But this is Cinderella like you've never seen it before! In this version, the White Rabbit from Alice in Wonderland has fallen through the wrong hole and becomes a character in Cinderella. A musical delight for the whole family!Cinderella and the Prince, from the play, will be at Mrs. Nelson's to read Cinderella and perform a musical number from the production. MainStreet Theatre Company's Cinderella opens January 30 and runs through February 13, on Saturdays at 1:00 pm and 4:00 pm. There will be one Sunday matinee on February 7 at 1:00 pm. Tickets are $16.50 for general admission, $14.50 for Seniors, and $13.50 for Youth up to age 12. Both shows on January 30th are Target Family performances--tickets are only $8 each. Picture book author and illustrator Peter Brown, author of Chowder, will be visiting to talk about his latest book, The Purple Kangaroo, and his 2009 favorite, The Curious Garden. He will be giving a drawing demonstration and taking your questions about his books. The Curious Garden is about a boy who lives in a desolate, gray city who comes across some plants growing along abandoned, elevated train tracks. The boy tends the plants and helps them to grow and soon, others begin to grow plants too, until the city becomes completely filled with plants.
