The False Princess is a very exciting book about Princess Nalia who, at age 16, is told she is the stand-in for the actual princess, her name is Sinda, and that she must go "home" to an aunt she has never met. Nalia/Sinda has no idea how to function as a peasant, and now Sinda must also face the magic she has, magic that nobody is willing to teach her to use . until she meets Philantha. At least, she still has her friend Kiernan. However, soon she has uncovered a plot to change the future of Thorvaldor.. I recommend this suspenseful fantasy novel to ages 10 through 13. It takes place in a medieval kingdom called Thorvaldor, a land with oracles of the Nameless God and universities for magic. If you are a fan of the Tamora pierce books that take place in Tortall, but would rather have something that stands alone, then you have yet another good book waiting for you.

“Across the Universe” is truly a story of love, life, and the adventure of the unknown. Amy, a spunky, independent, 17 year old girl, is cryogenically frozen along with her parents and put upon the spaceship, Godspeed, to wake up 300 years on a different planet. But trouble strikes when Amy is at the 250 year mark of her frozen journey when she is unplugged and almost killed. Amy is forced into the new world on Godspeed where she is forced to cope inside a world that has truly been turned upside down. All passengers on Godspeed follow the controlling, tyrannical, lying Eldest who shows little to no respect for his bright, adventurous, 16 year old heir, Elder. Now, Amy must learn to trust Elder so they can work together, with a bit of help, to bring down the culprit who wanted Amy dead. All in all, they both make shocking discoveries about themselves, their friends, and the lies and secrets Godspeed holds. I absolutely loved this book because the story kept me on my toes every second. I truly felt as if I were experiencing the story along with Amy and Elder and that I was right by their side as a silent witness. I felt that I was one of the many passengers on Godspeed and I could see why Amy and Elder felt the need to escape. This book is truly worth taking the time to read and enjoy. Just one suggestion: be sure to read it when there is a lot of time because no reader will want to put this book down after starting the first chapter! I would recommend this book to anyone who like a book with an exciting storyline and plot.

Coke McDonald and Pepsi McDonald are racing against time in trying to figure out who’s after them, why, and what the heck is this Genius Files stuff is. First they jump off a cliff when some dudes with bowler hats chase them with golf carts. Then their “health teacher”, Mrs. Higgins, traps in both Pepsi and Coke in the detention room-with the door locked from the outside! A fire starts up, which seems pretty peculiar to Coke, who thinks the locked door and fire may have something in common. Suddenly, they get hit with a cross-country road-trip that takes Coke and Pepsi to some semi-exciting yet very dangerous places, while the bowler guys trail silently after them... Sprinkled with photographs of the places Coke and Pepsi went, this book is both historical and funny for all ages!

The first part was fun because there is cute stuff like caterpillars and birds. I especially like the pictures of all the animals. The words are not as good as the pictures.

Reviewed by Elliot A. It was funny because a monster really wasn’t coming. I liked the picture of the baby bug just staring at the other animals. And another fun part was when the inchworm tried to hide and his bottom stuck out! I think big kids would like this book.
