I can say, without a doubt, that Pure is one of the best books I've read this year - and I read a lot of books! A gritty, dystopian tale of the world after a nuclear holocaust, this first part of the "Pure" trilogy has something for everyone: mystery and intrigue, violence, romance, and rumblings of a sinister conspiracy. This unsettling but beautiful book is sure to be a huge crossover hit - it's sophisticated enough to appeal to even those adults who aren't YA fans. I'm counting down the days 'til the next installment is released!

I Hunt Killers, a thrilling cross between "Dexter" and I Am Not a Serial Killer, is absolutely amazing. The antihero Jazz, the teenage son of an infamous and prolific serial killer, is sympathetic, complex, and fascinating. The story is hideously gory enough to hold the interest (and horrify!) teens and adults. I can't say enough good things about this book and I'm waiting on hatchets and cleavers for a sequel! [Couldn't help myself!]

Griffin's fabulous debut is pleasantly reminiscent of Lia Habel's "Dearly, Departed". Combining steampunk, Victorian gothic, and Edgar Allen Poe's famous poem is unusual, but it works! I adored this wonderful book and I'm excited to see more from this talented new author!

Fans of "Matched" will dive into Cass' stunning debut! It's got everything a girl could want from a YA novel: dystopia, romance, royalty, and intrigue - I couldn't put it down! I'm dying for the next book in the series!

I'm convinced Lauren Child must be some sort of genius to have so many great series under her belt: Charlie and Lola, Clarice Bean, and now Ruby Redfort, schoolgirl and code-cracking mastermind. Fans of Harriet the Spy will love smart, spunky Ruby Redfort!

I always love reading but sometimes a book comes along that's exactly what I'm in the mood for and I enjoy it extra-much. Such was the case with "Bewitching", the enchanting prequel to "Beastly". I enjoyed every minute of reading it and now I'm committed to reading every one of Alex Flinn's books!

Trafficked (Hardcover)

"Trafficked" is an impressive debut: it's not only a thoroughly satisfying read, it's an important one, bringing to light issues that are more common than people think: human trafficking and slavery. Harrowing and appalling, made all the more so by its basis in fact, "Trafficked" tells a story you won't soon forget.
